The Art of Magic

Deddy Corbuzier have been a Magician for more than 10 years and he long dreamed to make a difference himself to this performing art he loved, to the art of magic.

The History of Magic itself started centuries ago began by the rites and rituals of the Ancient Egyptian, Greeks and Romans on predicting future, prayer to Ancient Gods etc. Yet at that point science also started to develop and the result shows that nowdays magic is seen as nothing more than just entertainment most of the people.

Tantowi Yahya, one of the Best Presenter in Indonesia, aknowledge Deddy Corbuzier by saying "Deddy Corbuzier is entertainingly Mysterious!!” likewise Eamonn Sadler from Superbrands Indonesia also agreed by saying "In more than 20 years as a promoter in the entertainment industry, I have met only a handful of performers who have impressed me more than Deddy Corbuzier" and the question is, did Dedy realized his dream and make a difference to the art of magic?

Despite of his personal achievement amongst the Magicians and people around Asia, Deddy have also brought the Art of Magic into a brand new level of entertainment in Indonesia. Magic, which was often seen by many people as cheap tricks, uneducated show and wasting time have transformed into a brand new source of entertainment.

Deddy Corbuzier with his show “The Master” and the tag line “Mencari Bintang Tanpa Mantra” (Looking for a Star without Spell) have brought magic, which is often seen on children birthday parties and low class shows, have grown so much that it could even be shown in the television and is seen by the entire country of Indonesia.

Magic without any doubt have become a trend in Indonesia. It has been famous not only as a trend itself, but also as part of the lifestyle. Finalist of the show have created a kind of cult for themselves, for example Abu Marlo, who is entitled as the rock star magician, because of his unique style some people started to dress like him, dress like a rock star and more than that Limbad the Fakir Magician, who have his own mystical and untidy hair have a group of people having similar haircut like him, to show their support to him and so does other magicians, which is a proof that the trend and lifestyle is affected by the Magic show. Therefore the amount of people studying and performing magic has also increased.

The art of magic itself varies by the genre of magic played by the magician. Not all magicians are the same and that’s what’s interesting about it. Just like music, magic also have genres here they are:
